How to Get Involved in Gardens for Charlestown
Community Membership
In recognition of the growing interest in the Gardens, a desire to promote inclusivity, and the incredible wealth of talent in our broader community, the Board of Directors of Gardens for Charlestown is introducing a new Community Membership. We invite you to become a "Friend of Gardens for Charlestown."
Purpose: Enable people outside of Members and Plot Sharers to connect with Gardens for Charlestown, take advantage of the benefits of our outdoor space, and contribute to our community.
Cost: FREE
Volunteer Requirement: We require each "Friend of Gardens for Charlestown" to contribute five (5) volunteer hours a year to the Gardens to maintain their Community Membership.
Benefits of Community Membership:

early access to information concerning events and activities and priority for ticketed events

invitation to GfC-Member only events such as education classes

ability to assist with garden space (e.g., help with watering, border gardens)

Get on the Wait List for Your Own Plot
Each spring, plots that become available are assigned to individuals on the Wait List. Questions about your Wait List application may be directed to treasurer@gardensforcharlestown.org. All Wait List members will receive emails from the Gardens and are welcome and encouraged to participate in events and volunteer their services.
Residents of Charlestown are welcome to become Members of Gardens of Charlestown entitled to use of one of our 65 plots. In order to make our limited number of plots as widely available as possible, there is only one plot permitted per household. To be a Member, you must be over the age of 18 and pay an annual membership fee (currently, it is $100).

To have your name added to the Wait List, fill out the Waitlist Application Form by clicking the button below. After submitting the form, pay the one-time $25 non-refundable fee either by PayPal or credit card (use button below). Your fee is tax-deductible and helps keep the Gardens running. Please note: Your name is not added to the Wait List until your application fee has been received. Also note that, from time to time, the Board may reach out to individuals on the Wait List to ascertain whether a person remains eligible to be a Member and still wishes to on the list. Failure to respond to the Board’s inquiry can also result in removal from the wait list.
